Pass Rates for Level 7 SQA/SFA Refereeing Course

Please provide the following: - Pass rates for the Level 7 SQA/SFA refereeing course across Scottish schools from this session and the previous 5 sessions. - Pass rates of mock assessments for this session and the previous 5 sessions. Both above requests include the difference in results from using classmarker to Solar exam platforms

There has been a significant drop in pass marks across several schools this session compared to previous sessions since changing to the Solar exam system. There has been correspondence between the SFA and SQA that has placed blame on teacher practice, where the error is clearly systemic

Please find data on the number of certifications for the PDA in Scottish Football Association: Refereeing at SCQF level 7 (GA51 47) for the previous 5 academic years. We are unable to provide information on the total number that undertake the course as we do not hold the information. We are only able to provide the number of certifications.

We are unable to provide complete certification data for this year’s cohort of learners until the end of the current academic year. 

Under section 17 of the Act, when an authority does not hold information it must inform the requester. The Laws of the Game SCQF 7 (FF2Y 34) Outcome 1 Formative (Mock) SOLAR assessment has no pass mark therefore no pass rate is available. 

We also do not hold information on The Laws of the Game SCQF 7(FF2Y 34) Outcome 1 Mock assessment. This was undertaken by learners on a digital platform hosted by the Scottish Football Association (SFA) for the previous 5 academic years. SQA therefore has no data on the performance of learners in the Mock assessment for the previous 5 academic years.
