The Core Skills Framework, NQ and Workplace Core Skills units have been refreshed ready for first candidate entry in August 2008.
Core Skills are the broad, transferable skills that help to develop the main capabilities people need to be full, active and responsible members of society. Core Skills contribute to employability, and are a component of Modern Apprenticeships in Scotland.
The Workplace Core Skills Units are designed for use with SVQs, within Modern Apprenticeships, or more generally within the workplace. There are 20 Units - one at each of the four levels for each of the five Core Skills - from Access 3 through to Higher.
