We have developed four awards to support the Licensed Trade in implementing the mandatory PLH (Personal Licence Holders) qualification and staff training requirements arising from the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005.

Scottish Progression Awards - SPAs
Scottish Progression Awards (SPAs) have been designed by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) as a good way to get yourself started on the road to getting a qualification that recognises the skills and knowledge which you use in your work, or which you will gain during work placement or work experience.
Professional Development Awards - PDAs
Offered by colleges and some universities, these awards are available at post-graduate and post-experience level, spanning a wide variety of occupational areas.
National Qualification Group Awards - NQGAs
National Certificates and National Progression Awards (NPAs) are vocational qualifications designed to prepare people for employment, for career development or for progression to further study.
